Presidents Message

I am honored to serve as the 2012-2013 SMPS Houston Chapter President. I have been a member of SMPS for many years. The Houston Chapter is one of the most successful chapters in the nation. Looking back, I had no idea the impact SMPS would have on my career. I was young and shy and remember attending a few events but feeling rather intimidated. In my second year of membership, I made an important decision — to jump in feet first and join a committee. And, I’m so glad I did. I became engaged in the chapter and went on to serve on many of our committees and then moved into leadership roles within the organization. I’ve grown so much personally and professionally from my involvement, my service and the relationships I have made along the way.

This year our chapter is led by an exceptional board of directors focused on engaging our members to help them reach their professional goals. Our members are an outstanding and talented group of professionals interested in continuing education, promoting ourselves and our companies, building relationships, extending our network, finding work/life balance, and last but not least, assisting the children of Casa de Esperanza de los Niños—the House of Hope for Children. 

The time is now to:

• Volunteer on a Committee
• Become a Sponsor
• Attend Our Outstanding Programs and Events
• Become a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM)
